How many physician assistants (PAs) can a physician (MD) supervise in New York?

Answered by Arslan Suleymanov, medical reimbursement specialist, editor-in-chief of WCH Insights:

According to the New York State laws, a physician may employ or supervise no more than four PAs in private practice and no more than 6 PAs in a correctional facility. Please be advised that physician assistants cannot be co-owners of private practice, and they may perform medical services but may not practice medicine itself.
