Immediate Action Required for All NY Medicaid Providers
The New York State Medicaid program is actively conducting provider revalidation, and official notification letters are being distributed to enrolled providers across the state. It is imperative that all providers understand the urgency of this process and respond within the required timeframe to maintain uninterrupted participation in the Medicaid program.
Why This Matters
We have recently encountered several cases where providers either missed revalidation letters or did not receive them due to outdated contact information on file with the New York State Department of Health. As a result, these providers were deactivated from the Medicaid program—a situation that has serious operational and financial consequences for any practice.
Provider deactivation is not merely an administrative inconvenience. It represents a significant disruption that affects every aspect of your practice operations:
- Immediate loss of billing privileges for all Medicaid services rendered
- Disruption of patient care services for your Medicaid patient population
- Potential revenue loss during the reactivation process, which can take weeks or months
- Administrative burden to restore provider status and resubmit enrollment documentation
- Possible claim denials for services provided during the deactivation period
- Impact on patient relationships and continuity of care
