AMA has issued new CPT vaccine and administrative codes to the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.  Providers of COVID-19 diagnostic tests are required to make public their cash prices for those tests. To find out more about these, read along!

New CPT codes (91300 and 91301) have been assigned to the two COVID-19 vaccines — Pfizer and Moderna, and four new codes (0001A, 0002A, 0011A, and 0012A) are added for the administration of these vaccines.

The new Category I CPT codes and long descriptors for these vaccine products are as follows:

·         91300: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) (Coronavirus disease [COVID-19]) vaccine, mRNA-LNP, spike protein, preservative-free, 30 mcg/0.3mL dosages, diluent reconstituted, for intramuscular use.

·         91301: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) (Coronavirus disease [COVID-19]) vaccine, mRNA-LNP, spike protein, preservative-free, 100 mcg/0.5mL dosages, for intramuscular use.
