Horizon: new payment rates for PCA providers

Horizon has introduced a new hourly payment rate for personal care assistance services, following a recent state mandate enacted in New Jersey. Effective January 1, 2022, the rate for such services is $5.75 per 15-minute unit or $23 per hour. However, this applies only to individual providers. The PCA group rate has not changed. Consequently, healthcare providers must bill $5.75 per unit rate or greater for dates of service January 1, 2022, and forward.
