UHC to stop issuing paper checks

Starting from June 1, 2022, UnitedHealthcare will no longer issue paper checks for claim payments to healthcare provider, pursuant to the company’s current mission of going fully digital in the nearest future. If you treat patients covered by this insurance carrier, you need to sign up for direct deposit (electronic funds transfer or an EFT) payments by May 18, 2022. If you fail to meet this deadline, you will risk experiencing a major gap in payment flow from UnitedHealthcare since no payments shall be issued to participating healthcare providers unless those are signed up for an EFT.
