The National Correct Coding Initiative in Medicaid

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services NCCI promotes national correct coding methodologies to minimize improper coding. Improper coding is the root cause of inappropriate payments for Medicare Part B claims and Medicaid claims. Furthermore, the Affordable Care Act of 2010 stated clearly that Medicaid programs need to incorporate compatible NCCI methodologies in their systems.
