UHC Community Plan of NJ no longer pays for some chiropractic services

UnitedHealthCare Community Plan of New Jersey will no longer reimburse CPT® Code 98943, CMT; extraspinal, 1 or more regions on or after August 1, 2022. 

Reimbursement for the following CPT codes will continue.

• 98940 Chiropractic manipulative treatment (CMT) spinal, 1-2 regions 

• 98941 Chiropractic manipulative treatment (CMT); spinal, 3-4 regions 

• 98942 Chiropractic manipulative treatment (CMT); spinal, 5 regions
