Enhanced Patient Search: Availity Essentials Upgrade. Empire BlueCross

In a significant improvement to streamline processes and enhance user experience, Empire BlueCross is rolling out an enhanced patient search feature in Availity Essentials*. This upgrade started in mid-September and allows you to search for patient information in Availity Essentials’ Eligibility and Benefits section without requiring a member ID. This change not only simplifies your workflow but also maintains the highest standards of HIPAA compliance.

Here’s what you need to know about this development:

Effortless Patient Search: With this update, you can easily search for patient eligibility and benefits information using key details such as the patient’s last name, first name, date of birth, and zip code. No longer will you need to rely solely on the member ID to access vital patient information.

Accessing the Feature: To utilize this enhanced functionality, simply navigate to the Patient Registration section in Availity’s top menu bar and select Eligibility and Benefits Inquiry. You’ll find the new Patient Search option there.

Member ID Availability: Should you require the member ID for other capabilities within Availity Essentials, worry not. When you use the new search option to access eligibility and benefits details, the member’s current ID information will be readily available. It allows you to seamlessly transition to other digital features where the member ID remains a necessity.

Stay Informed: Keep an eye on the Availity Essentials home page, specifically under News and Announcements, for updates on when this enhanced feature will be available. Empire BlueCross is committed to ensuring that you have access to the latest tools.

With this upgrade, Empire BlueCross aims to make your experience with Availity Essentials more efficient and user-friendly.
