Carelon Medical Benefits Management, Inc. to Expand Program Offerings for Wellpoint Members 

Carelon Medical Benefits Management, Inc. has announced the expansion of its programs, effective April 1, 2024. This development, as outlined in the November 2023 provider newsletter, signifies a proactive step by the specialty health benefits company to extend medical necessity reviews for additional procedures for Wellpoint members. 

The focal point of this expansion will be the integration of clinical appropriateness reviews for additional procedures, particularly those related to the existing Carelon Medical Benefits Management programs, which include Expanded Cardiology, Genetic Testing, Radiology, Musculoskeletal, Surgical, and Radiation Therapy.
