Effective April 1, 2024, a significant enhancement to healthcare accessibility is set to unfold within the New York State (NYS) Medicaid landscape with the introduction of reimbursement for eConsults. This transformative initiative, mandated by the NYS Medicaid fee-for-service (FFS) program, marks a pivotal step towards bridging gaps in specialty care provision and bolstering patient outcomes. Moreover, Medicaid Managed Care (MMC) Plans are directed to adhere to this coverage, with full implementation slated for June 1, 2024.
