MetroPlusHealth Updates Claim Filing Timelines Following Change Healthcare Cyberattack
New York, NY – [Date] – MetroPlusHealth is providing an update regarding claim filing deadlines for impacted claims due to the Change Healthcare cyberattack in February 2024.
Temporary Extension Ends: The extended deadlines for appealing partially paid, fully paid, or denied claims, as well as the extended timeframes for submitting new claims, will expire on July 1, 2024. These extensions were previously outlined in the Department of Financial Services (DFS) Insurance Circular Letter No. 2 (2024).
Standard Timeframes Resume: Effective July 1, 2024, all claim appeals and submissions will revert to the standard timeframes as detailed in your provider services agreement with MetroPlusHealth.
Moving Forward: Any claims received on or after July 1, 2024, will be subject to these standard filing deadlines.
