Question: When can you report an unlisted pulmonary service (OPS)?
Answered by Arslan Suleymanov, editor-in-chief of WCH Insights:
The CPT 94799 (unlisted pulmonary service or procedure) may only be used to indicate the reassessment of cardio/respiratory responses of infants. This procedure is non-payable without supporting documentation (such as a procedure report) that contains a sufficient description of the nature, extent, and need for the procedure and the time, effort, and equipment spent on rendering the service.
