Clarification on the usage of mid-level practitioner’s supervisor’s DEA number

Question: If a mid-level practitioner renders services in a state that requires the controlled substance prescription to contain the mid-level practitioner’s supervisor’s DEA number as well as the mid-level practitioner’s DEA number, is this possible with electronic controlled substance prescriptions?
Answered by Maria Chechina (CPC, CMRS), Billing Department Supervisor at WCH Service Bureau:
Several DEA numbers can appear on a single prescription, if required by local regulations, provided that the electronic prescription application clearly demonstrates which physician is the prescriber and which is the supervisor.Идея для картинки: фотка Маши, electronic prescription.
