Meet WCH – Maria Chechina

Having such a wonderful team of experts is our proudest achievement. Since 2001, many passionate and open-minded individuals have joined our company, each striving to achieve a common goal – to provide as much help to healthcare providers as possible. Today, we would like to share the story of Maria Chechina, an avid yoga lover, a fan of self-motivation literature, and a Billing Department Supervisor at WCH Service Bureau.
Success is believing you can. Believing in yourself is the secret of success.Per aspera ad astra, as the greatest thinkers of the past said many times. Indeed, the stories of our team members demonstrate that resilience and persistence make wonders. Maria Chechina joined WCH Service Bureau in 2013 as a perspective billing specialist. By this day, she has significantly nurtured her knowledge and skills, becoming a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and a Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS). Currently, she supervises the workflow of over a dozen medical practices in New York and New Jersey. Maria is one of the leaders of our Billing team. A genuine professional and a kind-hearted person, she constantly monitors and evaluates work performance, solves major underpayment cases, and consults our clients every day.
Having worked at WCH for over eight years, Maria has greatly improved her organizational, analytical and management skills. Her current experience allows her to work on revenue cycle management, conduct chart record audits, host webinars, and consult on various issues. Besides, she adores her fellow teammates and the workflow in general, bringing up a famous quote about why doing what you love is not considered as “work”. Maria is convinced that WCH Service Bureau will dominate the medical billing market in the United States in ten years from now. More so, she predicts us having over 100 franchises all across the country, with WCH gradually becoming providers’ first choice when looking for RCM partner. However, everything comes with a price. As a certified professional and a supervisor, Maria has noticed a negative tendency currently happening among insurance carriers. Namely, more and more claims are getting denied for unclear or invalid reasons. Maria believes that we are soon to see an exponential increase in a number of requests for medical records even for services as simple as regular office visits.
No matter what lies ahead, WCH is ready.

Maria is motivated by challenges and difficulties. Working in an environment of tight deadlines and having to spend over eight hours a day staring at a computer screen have taught her how to be more self-disciplined. Maria’s effective time management skill allows her to be extremely productive, and she thrives at work thanks to this productivity. Once a while ago, when she noticed herself feeling overwhelmed, she immediately worked on creating a structured schedule which would help her focus on the tasks at hand.
I believe time management skills can help us to reduce stress and improve productivity. I advise everyone to work on their organization and time management skills – says Maria.
Outside of work, Maria devotes herself to yoga, painting, learning languages (she is a graduate of a linguistic university who once used to be fluent in Spanish), and her cat. Going for mountain picnics is Maria’s favorite outdoor activity. Luckily, her outstanding time

management skill allows her to combine all this with work. We asked Maria to talk about her music, literature, and travel preferences. Apparently, she is a mélomane, i.e. she listens to a great variety of music genres – from hip-hop to jazz and classical music. When asked to name a book that she read most recently, Maria brings up “The Miracle Morning” by Hal Elrod, saying that it has taught her how to wake up with happy feelings and increase productivity in general. Interestingly, Jerusalem is Maria’s favorite place in the entire world.
Optimistic, sincere, ambitious” are the three words that Maria describes herself with. Paradoxically, many coworkers see her as yet another strict supervisor who cares only about work and the fulfillment of tasks. Having seen Maria “in action” and knowing that he wanted to become a teacher when she was a child, many of us would confirm this misconception about her. In reality though, Maria is a lively person who has a bag full of different things with her all the time. The scope of “things” is so wide that she says she does not even need to go home and grab a suitcase when someone invites her to a spontaneous trip. Our colleague is quite sentimental, as she cannot live without love, and she dreams of having a large own family. In general, Maria believes that we are what we are because of the values we inherit from our family. This is the reason to always be proud of who you love.
When a failure comes her way, Maria never gives up since she believes that everything happens for the best, regardless of the circumstances. Well, this is a good motion!
Dear Maria,
Thank you for everything you do. Your sharp focus, never-ending positivity, and compassion help us believe that goals can be achieved, and success can always be attained. Thank you for being a part of our team.
We wish you success in all your endeavors!
