151 Days Will Be the Last before the Final Telehealth Waiver

Hundreds of service codes that have been permitted for telehealth rules since 2020 have been authorized a 151-day extension by CMS from the last day of the COVID-19 public health emergency in the 2023 Physician Fee Schedule.

Beginning January 31, 2023, the public health emergency is renewable every 3 months. Providers will actually get seven months’ notice. This became clear after the statement of HHS Secretary Xavier Beccera. He announced that providers will get a 60-day heads-up when the Agency plans to stop the public health emergency.
