  1. Can you tell us a bit about your background and where you grew up?

I hail from Kharkiv, Ukraine, where I spent my formative years. My early childhood was in a military town in the Lviv region. During those young years, I aspired to become either a teacher or a journalist. However, life took an unexpected turn, leading me to pursue studies in publishing and printing. It wasn’t until a decade after my university graduation that I circled back to my true calling and embraced the path of a graphic designer.

  1. What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?

Well, I have a deep passion for cosmetics, and I’m proud to say that I’ve turned the dreams of countless little girls into reality through my work as a makeup artist. Apart from that, I have a keen interest in painting, practicing yoga, taking strolls with friends, and savoring a good cup of coffee.

  1. What is the best book you’ve read recently, and what did you like about it?

Recently, I’ve found myself immersed in the literature that explores the journeys of successful businesses. One book that particularly captivated me is ‘The Story of Ikea.’ This narrative unveils the ingenious marketing tactics employed in establishing their stores, all while emphasizing the paramount importance of customer satisfaction. What adds a unique dimension to this book is the fact that it was co-authored by the company’s founder. In its pages, he delves into the intricacies of family dynamics, the expectations he held for his employees, and the personal emotions that accompanied his entrepreneurial endeavors. And, as a delightful bonus, I wholeheartedly recommend savoring their iconic meatballs at one of their restaurants.

  1. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

A few years ago, I might have mentioned a European country. However, today, my dream destination is Ukraine. I yearn to explore all the corners of my homeland that I’ve yet to visit and revisit my cherished spots. I would embark on a hometown tour.

  1. Is there something you’ve always been curious to attempt but haven’t had the opportunity to do so?

Personally, I’ve been eager to give paddleboard yoga a shot.

  1. Who is someone that has inspired you in your life, and why?

The source of my inspiration is people. I firmly believe that everyone carries something inspiring within them. To begin, my mother stands as the primary example. She was a tenacious individual with an incredible sense of humor and a knack for delivering a powerful message with just a glance. Equally, my grandfather is a source of immense pride for me; his life story is so rich and compelling that it could fill the pages of a book. Last but not least, my husband has played a significant role in my journey. His unwavering support and pride in encouraging me to pursue a career in graphic design have been truly inspiring.

  1. How do you like to unwind after a long day at work?

I won’t keep you in suspense; I find relaxation in savoring a delicious meal with a glass of wine, followed by a peaceful night’s sleep.

  1. What is your favorite type of food, and do you have a favorite restaurant or recipe?

I have a fondness for borscht and, generally, enjoy simple homemade dishes. As for a favorite restaurant, I don’t have one specific choice; if the food is delectable, the service is delightful, and I’m in good company, then that becomes my favorite restaurant for the evening.

  1. What is something people might be surprised to learn about you?

What might surprise you is that I worked as a process engineer in the chief metallurgist’s department at a large plant, where I had the opportunity to witness the operation of a massive steel-melting furnace.

  1. What is your favorite movie or TV show, and what do you like about it?

For some reason, I can vividly remember the most peculiar movie I’ve watched, and that’s Mulholland Drive. It’s a film that leaves you so intrigued that you often find yourself turning to Google to unravel its mysteries.

  1. What is a skill you would like to learn or improve?

I’m eager to acquire the ability to effectively manage my time and eliminate the need to rush.

  1. How do you maintain motivation and concentration in your work and personal life?

Deadlines are certainly motivating, but the greatest motivation often arises when you see the results of your efforts and find them satisfying.

  1. What advice would you offer someone entering your field?

Firstly, invest in your education. Secondly, embrace craft techniques as they broaden your horizons. Thirdly, maintain self-belief; each subsequent piece of work improves. Lastly, practice, practice, and practice some more!

  1. What is a goal or aspiration you have for the future?

A future goal and aspiration of mine is to acquire my driver’s license and embark on an exciting road trip, reuniting with friends scattered across the globe.

  1. Do you have any favorite quotes or mantras that inspire you?

Whenever I find myself not in my best state, I reflect on the question, “Consider what will benefit you at this very moment, and what actions you can take for yourself.”

  1. What is something you’re grateful for today?

I’m thankful for the opportunity to catch up with a dear friend today.
