Nana Kazhiloti, Credentialing Specialist: I can talk about Oxana for days and hours. She is one of the main people in my life who plays a big role. I’ve known her for 13 years and within this time she taught me a lot in life. She’s always been my biggest supporter. In 2019 Oxana also became part of my Family and baptized my son. She’s an extremely smart, educated, and caring person.

Can you share a bit about your background and upbringing?

I spent my formative years in Kazakhstan, growing up in a small town steeped in unique history. I pursued studies in management and tourism at the university before embarking on a new chapter in my life.

At the age of 21, I made a life-altering decision to relocate to the United States. Upon my arrival in the vibrant city of New York, I swiftly immersed myself in the professional realm by joining WCH. It marked the beginning of a journey filled with challenges and triumphs.

Joining WCH was a pivotal moment for me. Eager to excel, I undertook and successfully passed numerous certification exams, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. This journey included overcoming challenges, tackling unfamiliar exams, and expanding my expertise in the healthcare domain.

What are some of your hobbies and interests outside of work?

In my leisure time, I find solace in the captivating realms of literature. While my schedule rarely allows for traditional reading, I’ve embraced the convenience of audiobooks, delving into genres like fiction and science fiction. Beyond recreational reading, my intellectual curiosity extends to various subjects. I often indulge in listening to lectures on diverse topics such as physiology, quantum physics, philosophy, history, psychology, and language learning—subjects that I might not encounter in my everyday life. This eclectic exploration fuels my passion for continuous learning and broadening my horizons.

What is the best book you’ve read recently, and what did you like about it?

Recently, I delved into Max Frai’s Chronicles of Echo. This work of light fantasy not only brought moments of laughter but also managed to captivate my interest throughout. The blend of humor and engaging storytelling made it a delightful and memorable reading experience.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

My dream destination would be the Taj Mahal. I have a profound interest in visiting historical monuments and unraveling the rich tapestry of their histories. The Taj Mahal, with its breathtaking architecture and storied past, beckons as a place where I could immerse myself in the beauty of the past.

Who is someone that has inspired you in your life, and why?

Someone who has left an indelible mark on my life is my literature teacher. Her intelligence, passion for teaching, and inspiring demeanor made her a remarkable figure. Whenever she delved into the characters of the books we studied, her eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. She had a unique way of unveiling angles and perspectives we might not have considered, fostering a philosophy that embraces the multitude of shades between black and white.

Her influence instilled in me a deep appreciation for literature, compassion, and a curiosity to comprehend the underlying complexities of situations and human behavior. Her teachings continue to resonate, guiding me to perceive the world in all its nuanced richness.

How do you like to unwind after a long day at work?

After a demanding day, my unwinding ritual varies based on the circumstances. Some evenings, I find solace in the art of cooking, immersing myself in the therapeutic rhythm of preparing a meal. On other occasions, a leisurely and rejuvenating bath serves as the perfect antidote to the stresses of the day. Alternatively, I may choose to unwind by delving into a captivating movie, or indulge my intellectual curiosity with lectures on a variety of fascinating subjects.

What is your favorite type of food, and do you have a favorite restaurant or recipe?

Without a doubt, my favorite type of food are the delicious home-cooked meals prepared by my mom. Nothing quite compares to the warmth and flavor of dishes crafted with love and care in a familiar kitchen. While I may not have a specific favorite restaurant or recipe, the comfort and nostalgia associated with my mom’s cooking hold a special place in my heart.

What is something people might be surprised to learn about you?

A surprising tidbit about me is that during my university years, I dedicated two years to studying French. Despite the effort, my French vocabulary is confined to just two phrases: “My name is Oksana” and “Martha goes to the station.”

What is a skill you would like to learn or improve?

I’m keen on mastering the techniques of speed reading and enhancing my text comprehension abilities. The art of swiftly absorbing information while maintaining a profound understanding is a skill I’m eager to cultivate.

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

Reserved, calm, measured.

What is one piece of advice you would give to someone starting in your field?

Practice creates knowledge.

Do you have any favorite quotes or mantras that inspire you?

I like the quote that is attributed to Socrates, while he did not actually say it this way “I know one thing, that I know nothing”. It inspires me to never stop learning, even if it seems as if I know everything.
