Can you tell us a bit about your background and where you grew up?
I was born in Tashkent 29 years ago and have lived there ever since, completing my education and settling down. However, my childhood was spent in Kazakhstan. I come from a middle-class family, where both of my parents have been incredibly hard-working and supportive. They’ve always stressed the importance of education and perseverance in shaping my character.
Four years ago, I embarked on my journey at WCH as a credentialing specialist, where I’ve been able to apply my skills and grow professionally.
What are some of your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Camping holds a special place in my heart. Whether it’s in a cozy tent, a camper, or simply under the stars, camping offers a unique opportunity to explore new destinations, immerse oneself in the beauty of nature, and create unforgettable memories with family and friends of all ages. Throughout my life, I’ve embarked on numerous camping adventures that have solidified it as one of my favorite hobbies, cherished for its ability to foster meaningful connections and provide endless enjoyment in the great outdoors.
What is something you are passionate about, and why?
I’m incredibly passionate about spending time outdoors. It’s where I often find myself on weekends and whenever I’m not in the office. I’ve noticed that I feel more energized and rejuvenated for the workweek ahead when I’ve had the chance to immerse myself in nature over the weekend.
What is the best book you’ve read recently, and what did you like about it?
Kronin is one of my favorite authors, known for crafting compelling narratives that delve into the complexities of human nature. His work often explores themes of pride, and one of his fairly long yet captivating novels delves deeply into the horrors that arise from excessive pride. It’s a powerful and poignant tale, shedding light on the destructive consequences of hubris and its impact on the lives of those in its wake. Through vivid characterizations, Kronin skillfully portrays the struggles faced by the protagonist’s family, who endure immense suffering at the hands of a man consumed by arrogance and self-absorption.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
The Vatican is a destination I’ve longed to visit for quite some time. As the smallest country in the world, Vatican City boasts a wealth of ancient history waiting to be explored and appreciated. It’s a truly unique enclave, brimming with profound historical, artistic, and religious significance that simply cannot be overlooked. From awe-inspiring architecture to priceless works of art, the Vatican promises an unforgettable experience for anyone fortunate enough to visit.
What is something you’ve always wanted to try but haven’t had the chance to yet?
I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of skydiving. The thrill of freefalling from thousands of feet above the ground is undeniably exhilarating. However, the inherent risks involved have held me back from leaping, quite literally. Perhaps it’s the fear of the unknown or the uncertainty of what could go wrong that has prevented me from trying it thus far. Despite my apprehensions, the idea of soaring through the sky with nothing but a parachute is a dream I hope to turn into reality one day.
How do you like to unwind after a long day at work?
No matter how hard you try to unwind, it’s challenging when work thoughts persist even after the workday ends. After a long day at the office, my priority is to disconnect completely from anything work-related. I switch off my phone and laptop and devote quality time to myself and my family. While deep thinking can lead to productive outcomes at work, reaching that level requires taking breaks to rejuvenate our minds. By allowing ourselves time to recharge, we can return refreshed and ready to delve into tasks with renewed focus and energy.
What is your favorite type of food, and do you have a favorite restaurant or recipe?
I typically say, “Anything that someone else cooks.”
What is something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I pursued a professional dancing career for approximately 15 years.
Do you have any pets, and if so, what kind and what are their names?
I have a cat named Lisa. She is an important member of our family. This cat came to us last year. She walked in by herself and decided to stay with us. I can confidently say that Lisa brought luck and positive energy into our family.
What is your favorite movie or TV show, and what do you like about it?
I’ve seen numerous movies, but my absolute favorite has to be Harry Potter. I adore it. It stands out from the rest with its unique storyline, placing the Golden Trio in entirely new and challenging situations. The plot revolves around an impossible mission: to destroy seemingly indestructible objects that they struggle to locate. For these reasons and many more, Harry Potter holds a special place in my heart.
What is a skill you would like to learn or improve upon, and why?
I firmly believe that personal development is crucial for achieving success in any profession. To enhance my effectiveness in the workplace, I am committed to honing my skills in time management and organization, aiming to become more productive and efficient in my tasks. Additionally, I aspire to bolster my confidence and refine my public speaking abilities to become a more persuasive and impactful communicator.
If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
I would describe myself as self-motivated, flexible, and strategically focused.
How do you stay motivated and focused in your work and personal life?
During challenging times, I find it essential to focus on the most important tasks. One effective strategy I employ is creating a to-do list and prioritizing tasks based on their importance and urgency. By tackling the most critical tasks first, I ensure that essential objectives are met promptly, minimizing the risk of feeling overwhelmed. This approach helps me stay on track and maintain productivity even in demanding situations.
Do you have any favorite quotes or mantras that inspire you?
I have two favorite quotes that deeply resonate with me, although I can’t recall where I first encountered them:
“Today’s accomplishments were yesterday’s impossibilities.”
“You learn more from failure than from success. Don’t let it stop you. Failure builds character.”
What is something you’re grateful for today?
I am grateful for the abundance of free learning resources available today.
If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be and why?
Bringing Vincent Van Gogh to museums to witness the appreciation for his artwork would indeed be a poignant experience. Despite enduring significant struggles and hardships during his lifetime, Van Gogh’s artistic vision and talent have left an indelible mark on the world of art. By showcasing his paintings in prestigious museums and galleries, we can offer him a glimpse of the enduring legacy he has left behind. Witnessing the admiration and value placed on his work today, which he may have never anticipated during his lifetime, would surely be a moment of profound validation and recognition for his artistic brilliance.
