Empire: the 2022 HEDIS methodology approaches

Have you ever received a Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) request for medical records? If so, you have already participated in Empire’s quality measurement and improvement program.

 In 2022, the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) implemented its Electronic Clinical Data Systems (ECDS) HEDIS reporting methodology to ensure that Empire Medicare & Medicaid Advantage Plan members are provided top-quality service. The following measures can be audited this year:• Childhood Immunization Status• Immunizations for Adolescents • Breast Cancer Screening • Colorectal Cancer Screening • Follow-Up Care for Children Prescribed ADHD Medication• Metabolic Monitoring for Children and Adolescents on Antipsychotics• Depression Screening and Follow-Up for Adolescents and Adults • Utilization of the PHQ-9 to Monitor Depression Symptoms for Adolescents              and Adults• Depression Remission or Response for Adolescents and Adults• Unhealthy Alcohol Use Screening and Follow-Up • Adult Immunization Status• Prenatal Immunization Status• Prenatal Depression Screening and Follow-Up • Postpartum Depression Screening and Follow-UpHealthcare providers should expect to receive requests for clinical information related to the above-mentioned aspects from Empire throughout the year. The requested documentation can be submitted online, by mail, or via fax to the credentials mentioned in the request.
