Following a recent FDA emergency authorization of over-the-counter COVID-19 tests, FidelisCare has included this service into its list of covered procedures. For a test to be reimbursable, two conditions must be met:

• The test kit must be FDA-approved to be used by both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients• There must be a fiscal order made by a Medicaid-enrolled practitioner (corresponds to the information contained on a prescription)
If you are an in-patient or outpatient healthcare provider, you cannot bill the insurance for this service. However, you should expect to get requests for a fiscal order from your patients.
