Horizon: a new Medicare Advantage plan became available on April 1

The City of New York retirees are now covered by a new Medicare Advantage Plan through Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield. 

Effective April 1, 2022, retirees from the City of New York will be managed by a joint Horizon-Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield NYC Medicare Advantage Plus plan. This plan provides both in-network and out-of-network coverage. As of today, you do not need to take any action regarding this update. If you already participate with Horizon Medicare Advantage PPO plan, your participation is automatically expanded to this new Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicare PPO plan.
