NYS MEDICAID: New Enrollment Requirements  

Starting March 1, 2023, for New York State Medicaid fee-for-service and April 1, 2023, for Medicaid Managed Care Plans, NYS Medicaid will reimburse:   

• Licensed Clinical Social Workers  
• Licensed Mental Health Counselors  
• Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists  

All these categories must be enrolled with NYS Medicaid fee-for-service to receive reimbursement for services.  

Licensed clinical social workers, licensed mental health counselors, and licensed marriage and family therapists must be licensed and registered with the New York State Department of Education to enroll in the NYS Medicaid fee-for-service. They can submit an application for enrollment starting February 2023.
