The Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) enrollment requirement has been reestablished by Healthfirst. The new enrollment criteria for providers are now somewhat different.
The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) has already directed that failure to enroll will result in termination from any Healthfirst network that serves MMC, CHPlus or PWP members.
For new requests as a qualifying provider for the Healthfirst network, you must have an MMIS number. In addition, they can not be on the eMedNy Medicaid Pending Provider Listing. When these two conditions are met, new requests will be considered positively for enrollment.
