Japan’s Health Insurance Societies Predict Record Losses in 2023

The National Federation of Health Insurance Societies (Kenporen) in Japan, a group of health insurance societies that caters to employees of large corporations and their families, has predicted a record loss for its member societies in the fiscal year 2023. The anticipated combined loss is projected to reach ¥562.3 billion by next March, mainly because of rising contributions to the medical care service for the elderly.
