The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has outlined important dates to ensure you maximize your participation and potential benefits.
Key Deadlines to Remember:
- July 5, 2024 (NEW): Start collecting data today! This is the last day to begin collecting data for a continuous 180 days for the Promoting Interoperability performance category in 2024. (The reporting period increases to 180 days starting this year.)
- October 2024: MIPS eligibility confirmed! Your eligibility for the 2024 performance year will be updated based on the June 30 Alternative Payment Model (APM) snapshot. You can find Qualifying APM Participant (QP) determinations and MIPS APM participation information on the QPP Participation Status Tool (https://qpp.cms.gov/participation-lookup).
- October 3, 2024: Last call for improvement activities! This is the deadline to begin implementing an activity for a continuous 90-day period for the Improvement Activities performance category in 2024. Note: Most activities follow this schedule, but some require year-long or alternate performance periods. Always check the specific activity description for details.
- October 2024 (Estimated): Time for a review (if needed)! The final date to request a MIPS targeted review for your 2023 MIPS final score will be announced closer to the release of 2025 MIPS payment adjustment information. Only request a review if you believe there’s an error in your score.
