MEET WCH – Elina Sabilova

This edition focuses on Elina Sabilova, one of our billing account representatives. Elina recommends that every client keeps in touch with their assigned ARs to ensure fast claims approvals, speed up the process of resolving any problems, and ultimately, improve cash flow. In this edition, we interviewed Elina Sabilova, one of our Billing Account representatives. She shared what it feels like to work for WCH. She also discussed her job responsibilities and the challenges she faces in her work. Elina also expressed her views about the future of WCH and discussed her career plans and hobbies.

Joining WCH was pretty easy for Elina. It all began in 2014: she was a fresh graduate striving to obtain new knowledge and dive into a profession. She got into WCH and was assigned to an experienced employee, Liza Bannova. Elina’s learning period went smoothly and at the same time, it was very exciting for Elina. From her first day at work, she already knew that WCH was the place she would like to work for many years.   

From 2014 to 2019, Elina worked as an Account Representative and had the opportunity to work on many accounts from different specialties. In 2019, she was appointed a supervisor of the billing department. After that, she went on two-month maternity leave and returned to the AR position.

On May 1, 2021, she became a supervisor of a small group within the Billing Department.

With her recent appointment as a supervisor of the third billing group, Elina’s responsibility is to ensure that work in her group is done correctly and on time. She monitors daily work and ensures that the accounts are in good shape to make clients happy. She understands that the timely payment of clients’ claims is a priority and works towards achieving that.

She finds her job exciting, especially when she encounters challenging tasks from time to time. Every client has many specific issues, and the nature of her job requires her to see any potential problem before it happens.

Despite the challenges, she likes resolving issues and helping providers keep their practice account in order. Sometimes, there are unfair denials by insurance carriers that affect a big number of claims and opening projects, but fighting for them and winning is very satisfying to her.

Elina recommends that every client keeps in touch with their assigned ARs. According to her, both, clients and ARs must share every piece of information about the account on time. This helps to improve work and cash flow, speed up the resolution of existing problems, and prevent new ones.

Regarding her career plans and the future of WCH and the healthcare industry at large, Elina plans to develop her professional skills further at WCH as she believes that WCH is becoming bigger and expanding, rather than just a Service Bureau.

In her words, “We have many new exciting projects, a lot of new ideas. In several years, we will see WCH grow into a large corporation with various professional services. I think it’s very exciting to be a part of this progress. The health care industry is changing every day. There was a dramatic change to it after the COVID-19 pandemic in terms of telemedicine spread and its technical and legal aspects. So every new problem creates a place for new progress, and this is great!”

Her closest plan is to buy a trip to the sea for her parents. The global one is to bring up her son as a good man. For people who are striving for their dreams, she advises them to ensure the dream they work on is theirs and not someone else’s. For her, that is very important because there is no sense to work hard if it isn’t what you really want. She ends her advice with this: “Working hard, never giving up is the advice of all times, which always works.”

Elina likes psychology. She finds it interesting to understand why people behave in particular manners in different situations. Knowing this also helps her to avoid unnecessary stress.

Elina’s favorite TV series is the Black Mirror, while her favorite books are Expectations by Charles Dickens, The Master and Margarita by Bulgakov, and Harry Potter by Joanne Rowling. She loves to sleep, travel, and read books.
